MACROMEDIA GET ANIMATED WITH BFI

MACROMEDIA have announced that they have joined forces with the British Film Institute (bfi) to support the Institute's celebration of animation for children, 'Drawn to be Wild', which runs until August 2001.
'Drawn to be Wild' encourages children between the ages of seven to 12 to discover more about the world of animation through a UK-wide programme of film screenings, workshops and educational activities as well as a new children's website at www. bfi.org.uk/wild.
The website contains up-to-the minute information about the project and will also showcase children's own animation work, created using 30-day trial versions of Macromedia Flash, the standard for producing high-impact web experiences.
To receive the free trial versions of Macromedia Flash, young animators need to complete the registration form at www.macromedia.eu.com/bfi and a CD-ROM will be sent by return. Teachers wishing to be involved in the initiative can register and receive a 10 CD-ROM pack, enough for the whole class to take part.
"Macromedia are delighted to be associated with this type of project," said Fiona Coughlan, Managing Director of Macromedia UK. "Not only is Macromedia Flash the perfect software for children to experiment with and develop their animation techniques, but the project will also enable children who do not have access to such technology on a day-to-day basis to have some fun and realise their creative potential. 'Drawn to be Wild' may act as the catalyst for some entrants to become the web designers of the future." (CD)
