Teranex gains software control module from da vinci

Teranex and da vinci have announced the availability of a software control module to provide additional capabilities in telecine suites, via a new interface that allows the da vinci 2K colour corrector to seamlessly control the Teranex StarFilm noise reducer.
StarFilm is Teranex's real-time noise reducer for film-originated material.
StarFilm incorporates advanced algorithms for high-quality dirt concealment, grain reduction, noise reduction and aperture correction for Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) material in the same platform utilising the same user interface for control.
Janet Leising, VP, Marketing for Teranex, said: "StarFilm is clearly the product leader in noise reduction for film. Since August, postproduction houses worldwide have overwhelmingly accepted StarFilm. Now, the da vinci 2K provides seamless integration in the telecine edit suite allowing colourist to use the control panel to automate the StarFilm process of dirt and gain reduction."
