Rohde & Schwarz reveal expanded NAB line-up

Rohde & Schwarz has announced plans to demonstrate significant enhancements and upgrades to its well-established suite of test and measurement equipment in addition to a new family of transmitters at NAB 2005.
Included in the line-up is the Company’s award-winning SFU Broadcast Test System. The system’s capabilities have been enhanced to operate with DVB-H, DVB-T, DVB-S, DVB-S2 (Broadcast Services), TDS-OFDM (DMB-T), DVB-C and DirecTV © Legacy (DSS) standards.
Additional options, including noise, phase noise and fading generation, an MPEG-2 generator / recorder / player, an arbitrary waveform generator, BER measurement and true power measurement using external power sensors will now be available.
Rohde & Schwarz’s DVM400 MPEG-2 analyser and monitor with up to four stream inputs, will now be available with an MPEG-2 generator/recorder/player, and a Data Broadcast Analysis option that includes DVB-H functionality. A new stream library for the SFU, DVRG or DVM400 provides dedicated DVB-H streams.
A family of handheld Spectrum Analysers – the FSH - with models that go up to six GHz, provide analogue & digital television measurements, and can do true power measurement with external power sensors will be launched.
Rohde & Schwarz will also introduce the new NX8200 transmitter platform for television and radio broadcasting. All the transmitters in the range are based upon the same concept and contain virtually identical components. The new R&S NetCCU 800 transmitter control unit includes SNMP and HTTP interfaces making it ideal for remote control operation. Additionally, it offers the capability to switch from English to Spanish.
