ARTEM DESIGN AND BUILD REMOTE CONTROL CAMERA HEADS

ARTEM, one of Europe’s leading special effects company, have designed and built the first in a family of Remote Camera Heads.
The Tiger 1000 triple axis head, which accommodates magazines up to 1000ft and Imax cameras, was first shown at the BSC exhibition at Dukes Island Studios in March of this year.
The Tiger Range also has its own unique software, Pathfinder, which Artem say is incredibly user friendly. It was decided to have technical equipment and software that could be handled by a member of the camera crew without special training. The control interface uses a touch screen control for ease and clarity and the system allows accurate repeatable moves.
Artem have many years experience with one-off camera rigs for motion control, and it seemed a natural progression to move into this area.
After the initial ‘all singing, all dancing’ unit was completed, work started on a smaller, lightweight range of 2 and 3 axis heads - due for launch this summer. (CD)
