The Hive announces the appointment of new head of CG

The Hive, part of full-service broadcast post-production facility VTR, has appointed Glenn Griffiths as its new head of CG.
The position is a newly created role that will see Griffiths take charge of products, recruitment and sales operations at The Hive. The move is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to grow the existing client base.
“Glenn is ideally placed to fill this role,” said Kate Sturgess, managing director, VTR. He’s worked for both small and large companies and we feel that he will be able to 'cut the cloth accordingly' – no matter the size of our clients’ budget, he's able to meet their production needs.”
Griffiths joins The Hive from Baraka Post Production and brings over 25 years of industry experience with him having filled a variety of roles from film editing, producing and directing, to head of production and vice president of facility operations. In addition, he has first-hand knowledge of live action, animation and visual effects as well as pre and post-production in the film, commercial and television spheres.
Prior to Baraka Post Production, Griffiths worked at Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment and ran his own post-production facility working with major agency producers and directors on projects ranging from storyboards to finished on-air delivery.
“Joining The Hive will enable me to utilise my experience within an established and respected company. The goals are to build on the existing foundations and continue to produce quality work on a timely and cost effective basis while enhancing the existing client base,” Griffiths said commenting on his new role.
VTR has forged an international reputation for creative innovation and high-end quality special effects. A fully integrated service for top-end commercials, music videos, feature films and idents work, VTR counts leading European agencies, top production companies and high-profile blue-chip companies among its clients.
There are two key assets within VTR – Digital Cinema @ VTR and The Hive @ VTR. Digital Cinema was set up in 2002 specifically to handle the high-resolution needs of digital feature film post-production and has since become a specialist in digital intermediate processes. The Hive was founded in April 2000 as a client-friendly boutique to focus on 2D and 3D graphics.
Recent credits include commercials for Vodafone, British Airways and Dior; branding and idents for BBC, C5 and CSI; and feature film projects include 'Vera Drake' and 'Deep Blue'.
