WISC-TV chooses Sundance Digital's Titan Automation solution for flexible multi-channel playout

Wisconsin-based CBS affiliate, a part of the Morgan Murphy Stations group, WISC-TV will launch a streamlined multi-channel operation in early March driven by Sundance Digital’s highly-scalable Titan Automation package.
“We evaluated a lot of systems, but Titan’s adaptability and attractive pricing won us over,” said Leonard Charles, Director of Engineering at WISC-TV. “We want to remain flexible in our equipment choices and Sundance was able to customise the system to interface with our legacy gear making it a terrific, cost-effective solution.”
Titan, Sundance Digital's most advanced transmission automation solution, will operate in conjunction with an Omneon Spectrum media server system.
Titan is capable of controlling hundreds of playout channels within a single facility, or playlists at multiple remote locations. It's widely distributed processing architecture permits dynamic reassignment of playlist control and assures mission-critical reliability.
WISC-TV’s automation suite will include Sundance Digital’s Intelli-Sat Broadcast Recording Manager for intake and delivery of syndicated programmes from satellite to the Omneon server.
Titan will also integrate tightly with Telestream’s Flip Factory to facilitate ingest of programme, spot content and metadata, and Pathfire’s Digital Media Gateway to manage the transfer of new media from Pathfire's cache server.
