Betanews mobile truck installed with Miranda multi-image display processors

Miranda Technologies has announced that Italian mobile broadcast company Betanews has installed five Kaleido K2 multi-image display processors in its new Esterna 10 high-definition mobile truck.
The Kaleido systems were installed by systems integrator Strides, with the assistance of technical consultant Video Progetti, Miranda's distributor in Italy.
The Kaleido K2 processors aboard the Esterna 10 are used with plasma and LCD displays, and they can easily display the truck's 18 Sony BVP 950 cameras to provide great flexibility for varied production requirements.
The truck has been used for multiple high-profile sporting events, including the European Champion League football matches and the Ferrari Maserati World Finals, held in Monza, Italy.
"The Kaleido K2 processors enabled us to superimpose individual race feeds over a map of the Monza track, with the monitoring windows positioned according to the camera locations along the track," said Umberto Chiariello, Director of Engineering at Betanews. "This provided a clear and immediate visual link to the sporting action at specific points throughout the race. The integration of these processors in our newest mobile unit has increased our efficiency when monitoring a high volume of video signals."
Key characteristics of Miranda's Kaleido multi-image display processors are their ease of use and flexibility. Operators at Betanews can use a mouse for all the key functions such as selecting a window for large-scale viewing, instantly changing layouts, or for source selection.
The 32-input Kaleido-K2 processor features robust design and provides a high-quality, feature-rich display that can support multiple video formats, including HD-SDI, SDI, composite, Y/C, RGB, PAL, analogue HD, and streaming video.
