IRELAND WELCOMES LATEST TECHNOLOGY

CONTENT Creation specialists McMillan held a very successful showcase in Dublin, bringing the latest technology to Irish customers.
The exhibition of broadcast and professional products, including a well attended series of post production, DVD, 2D and 3D equipment demonstrations did much to underline McMillan's position as leading solution providers for the Irish marketplace.
As Avid Premier Resellers, McMillan's experts were able to offer detailed demonstrations of a wide range of production kit including Symphony, Media Composer, DS and Xpress.
Particularly popular were the displays of Sonic's DVD Creator and Maya Complete from Alias Wavefront.
Designed for professional DVD production environments, Creator falls under the wing of McMillan's Digital Media division. It offers the complete set of professional features needed by post-production facilities, movie studios and multimedia producers, including superior encoding for cinematic-quality video, all-in-one workstation, workflow automation, web-enhanced titles, full creative control and studio sound. The Creator systems have so far not been widely used in the Republic but if the interests expressed at the show are indicative then this situation is likely to change in the future.
The computer game market continues to steadily grow with better and brighter animation always being sought. McMillan formed a dedicated division to meet the needs of the marketplace and were fortunate enough to win sole supplier status for Alias Wavefront's Maya products in the Republic of Ireland.
Attendees to the show were pleased to be able to gain hands on knowledge of this product as it made a rare appearance in Dublin.
