FILM COUNCIL INVEST £500,000 IN ‘WATER WARRIORS’
THE Film Council's Premiere Fund have announced that they are investing £500,000 in ‘Water Warriors’, a CGI animated sci-fi comedy being produced by UK production company Silver Fox Films.
‘Water Warriors’ finds aliens armed with a warship of awesome technology planning the invasion and domination of earth. But when a small advance party arrive they land in a small town, in a small garden, in a small pond and discover that they are really quite small... they've underestimated the size of Earth.
The film's all-star international cast includes Patrick Stewart, Stephen Fry, Antoine de Caunes, Miriam Margolyes and Peter Wyngaarde.
‘Water Warriors’ is directed by Graham Ralph and produced by Jackie Edwards for Silver Fox Films, winners of the BAFTA Best Children's Entertainment award and the Prix de la Jeunesse for ‘The First Snow Of Winter’.
Executive producers are Simon Channing-Williams, John Coates and Mick Southworth.
The film has also received £50,000 from the MEDIA II Programme for script development and visuals. (CD)
