Pioneer secures two HDTV commissions from the US

UK-based Pioneer Productions has secured new HD commissions from two major US networks.
‘Amazon Adventures’ for The History Channel and ‘Extreme Homes of Europe’ for HGTV (Home & Garden Television) are Pioneer’s first commissions for these channels.
Already one of the UK’s most experienced producers of such programming, Pioneer Productions has HDTV credits stretching back to 2001 including ‘Extreme Machines’ (TLC); ‘The Great American Motorcycle’ (Discovery Travel Channel/HD Theatre); ‘Million Dollar Motors’ (TLC) and ‘Kings of the Road’ (Discovery Travel Channel).
Jeremy Dear, Head of Development at Pioneer Productions, said: “We’re delighted to be working with these two major US networks, and especially to be producing these specials for them in High Definition – increasingly the preferred format in America. HD production gives a far superior depth and quality to filming than standard-definition television and really intensifies the on-screen experience. We’re confident the number of HD commissions will continue to grow in the next few months, and it’s great for Pioneer to be setting the standard in HDTV production.”
