Irish Film and Television Awards to take place this weekend

The Irish Film and Television Awards are to take place this coming weekend in Dublin.
The highlight of the evening promises to be a Lifetime Achievement Award for Maureen O’Hara. Joining O’Hara is Pierce Brosnan, who will pick up the special award for Outstanding Irish Contribution to Cinema.
James Nesbitt will keep the evening’s proceedings moving as a procession of the famous receive their accolades over the 31 competitive categories.
Confirmed guest for the night include Aidan Quinn, Brendan Gleeson, Alison Doody, John Lynch, Keith Duffy, Eva Birthistle, Hector Ó'Heochagain, Sinead Cusack, Niamh Cusack, Sinead Cusack, Gerard McSorley, Des Bishop, Brian Keenan, John McCarthy, Grainne Seoige, Claire Byrne, Gerry Ryan, Derek Mooney, Gerry Kelly, Ardal O’Hanlon, Niall Tobin, Brian Dowling, Alan Leech, Rachel Pilkington, David Wilmot and many more.
Chief Executive of the Irish Film and Television Network, Aine Moriarty, said: “This is truly a night of 1000 stars for Ireland, we look forward to celebrating the industry with a night to remember.”
The Irish Film and Television Awards in association with eircom take place at the Burlington Hotel on Saturday October 30. The ceremony will be broadcast on RTE One on November 1.
