SSL RECEIVE ORDER FROM CHINESE TELEVISION

SOLID State Logic (SSL) have received an order from China Central Television (CCTV) for a further three SSL digital consoles.
The first digital installation was completed in 1999, when a 48-fader, 96-channel Aysis air was ordered for a new 900 square foot studio at CTV’s main broadcasting centre in Beijing. The initial console was joined by a second, a 32-fader, 64-channel Aysis Air, located in a 5,400 square foot studio in the same building.
This investment is further complemented by new orders for a further three digital consoles, including 48-fader, 96-channel MT for music, recording and mixing. The MT digital multitrack console will be installed in a new room at the broadcaster’s TV Production Centre in Beijing.
In addition, CCTV have ordered two Aysis Air consoles for two new Outside Broadcast vehicles, currently under construction in France by the main contractors, Thomson. Scheduled for delivery later in the year, one mobile will house a 64-channel console, the other a 48-channel version.
SSL’s Regional Sales Manager, Tim Harrison, said: “CCTV are now investing substantially in digital technology. The long-standing relationship that we’ve had with the broadcasters since they purchased their first SL 4000 Series analogue console has convinced them of the reliability and operational ease of our products. Our regional distributors, Digital Media Technology, have also played a crucial role in providing system integration and installation, together with the highest standard of after sales support.” (CD)
