Fast Forward Video launches Mini DVR Pro

Fast Forward Video has launched its new ultra-compact Mini DVR Pro, a standalone, handheld, pocket-sized digital video recorder with exceptional image quality, featuring scalable Motion-JPEG (MJPEG) compression, and an outstanding 720 x 486 pixel image resolution.
The product was introduced to the European market for the first time at IBC 2004.
The Mini DVR Pro, measuring 5.2 in. by 0.8 in. by 3.7 in., is small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, slip into a pocket, or hang on a belt. It can record up to two hours at 20:1 compression with readily available Compact Flash cards. The Mini DVR Pro is equipped for directly downloading files via an on-board USB 2.0 port and is powered by four AA batteries or a low-voltage DC power input combined with low power drain for full portability.
Designed with the broadcast industry award-winning technology of the Fast Forward Video OMEGA DECK and the ultra-compact Recon DVR, the Mini DVR Pro offers more features, smaller size, and greater flexibility, and is easy to conceal.
The Mini DVR Pro features video capture and playback at 60 frames per second, resolution greater than 550 lines at 4:1 compression, user-selectable compression ratios ranging from 4:1 to 20:1, and recording times averaging from 4 to 20 minutes per gigabyte. The GPI control panel's features include record; seek or scan forward/backward; single-frame forward/reverse; delete clips; and play/pause. With control options including loop record, external triggers, and pre-event recording, the Mini DVR Pro will allow users to capture the whole story.
FFV's newest DVR product also features a time/date stamp and character display, time-lapse recording, NTSC/PAL compatibility, and composite and Y/C inputs and outputs. Video can be recorded as PC-viewable QuickTime files or secure video files. External control is available through optional machine control software, and the recorder may be powered through an external low DC voltage input or by replaceable/rechargeable internal batteries.
