HaiVision introduces hai300 series encoder/decoder

HaiVision Systems has announced the availability of the rugged and cost-effective hai300 series of encoders and decoders for security, surveillance and monitoring applications.
The hai300 series is based on the award-winning product design and video technology of the hai500 series, and it delivers full-motion DVD-quality video over IP and ATM under the most demanding environmental conditions. The hai300 series provides a flexible frame and blade architecture and built-in wide band multiplexing, yielding significant deployment benefits, including a broad range of encoder/decoder configurations and network interfaces and seamless integration of new technologies through simple blade replacement to reduce the complexity of life cycle logistics.
"The hai300 series leverages the NEBS-certified design and MPEG-2 technology of the hai500 series to deliver outstanding picture quality and a highly integrated and scalable design for broadband IP or ATM networks," said Ghislain Collette, Director of Product Management at HaiVision. "Further, the field-proven reliability of HaiVision's systems and resilience of its network interfaces are an invaluable asset for large-scale deployments where edge devices are installed in remote locations."
The hai320 model supports NTSC or PAL video encoding within a compact rugged chassis and incorporates bi-directional data communications for data port control of edge cameras or related equipment. The hai360 model is designed for central office monitoring and supports up to 10 decoders and 16 data ports within a single integrated and easy to manage system. The hai300 series has been extensively tested in a variety of operating conditions and has been validated at extreme temperatures ranging from -40C to +70C.
HaiVision's security, surveillance and monitoring products are supported by leading systems integrators globally.
