ON SIGHT UPGRADE RANGE OF AVID SYSTEMS

SOHO based ON Sight have upgraded their range of Avid online and offline editing systems as part of an ongoing development programme.
According to co-founder Simon Craddock the programme has been designed to “consolidate the company’s position as the largest digital hire company in the West End."
The new v3 upgrade for Symphony, running on the NT platform, provides 16:9 in addition to 4:3 capabilities and, with the new Avid Meridien hardware, supports all commonly used formats; serial digital, analogue component, composite and S-video.
In addition to the high-end Symphony system, On Sight also supplies a range of Avid Media and Film Composers for hire - with additional storage if required. All Avid equipment is regularly purchased through root6.
On Sight recently installed the Avid on-line for Channel 4’s coverage of the Le Mans 24 hour endurance race. Current projects include the hire of Avid Symphonys, utilised by two leading US networks for their coverage of Wimbledon 2001.
Established 12 years ago, On Sight have grown organically through a dedication to friendly and reliable service but with considerable attention to detail and an emphasis on technical excellence. Both founders have considerable prior experience in broadcast engineering.
In workshops attached to the company’s Berners Street showroom, the technical department ensures that all equipment is thoroughly pre-tested. Additionally, On Sight provides all the necessary ancillary equipment - waveform monitors, legalisers, PPMs etc - that are required for a successful and productive edit session.
