Expanding Evolutions nets top dubbing mixer and audio gear

To cope with company expansion and a growing demand for its audio services, Evolutions has announced new appointments and the acquisition of new technology.
Robin Saunders, the vastly experienced founder of Saunders + Gordon audio facility, has joined the Evolutions team as dubbing mixer. The company has also revealed that it has invested in a ProTools track laying suite and a Sonomic online sound effects library.
The recent expansion comes on the back of other operator appointments at Evolutions – including video editors Nick King, Owen Tyler and Mark McKenna.
Evolutions’ Managing Director, Simon Kanjee, said: “It’s great to have someone with Robin’s experience join us. He has a well-established client base and will help move the company into new areas such as promos and television and radio commercials. He perfectly supports the talents of our existing audio team, Ian Marriott-Smith and Nerys Richards.”
Saunders was the founder and managing director of the eponymous Saunders + Gordon back in 1985. Before its closure in December 2003, Saunders + Gordon worked with many of the leading advertising agencies, broadcasters and production companies across every facet of sound design.
Robin Saunders said: “Evolutions has always had a great reputation in the long-form television market. I’ve always respected the company and particularly its audio team. I like the people there and I like ProTools, and it seems like a great environment to work in.”
Saunders’ first project is to provide the audio post for RDF’s Moving Day series.
Scrub, a division of audio manufacturer HHB Communications, which sold the new audio gear, will offer support for the package as well. In addition to the new track-laying suite, which will back up the company’s two existing full-blown ProTools systems, the company has integrated Sonomic’s Total Library Server into Evolutions’ facility network.
