BBC’S DOCTOR WHO DRAMA A HIT IN CYBERSPACE

LEGIONS OF Doctor Who fans went online from noon on July 13 to listen to the BBC webcast their first online audio drama, ‘Death Comes to Time’, according to the BBC’s internal server logs.
Within the first three days of the Doctor Who story appearing at www.bbc.co.uk/cult, it attracted twice as many visitors as it had during the previous week, while 1.5 million page impression requests alone were received for the ‘Death Comes to Time’ real audio files.
The BBC’s first online drama also moved into the top five bbc.co.uk sites during the week commencing July 16 for the very first time.
Head of Fictionlab, Richard Fell, said: “The response from users has been overwhelming and clearly shows that there’s a thriving Doctor Who community on the net. The pilot has worked extremely well and we are delighted with the results to date.”
