RUSHES POSTPRODUCTION have announced the final short list for this year¹s festival, which will take place between July 28 to August 3 2001.
The quality of this year’s entries, which numbered over 850, was extremely high, illustrating the wealth of talent in short films including newcomer, established short film makers, animation, pop promos and title sequences and idents.
The festival will follow the same format as last year with free screenings being held in cafes, bars and cinemas all over Soho, culminating in a celebrity packed awards night at Sound in Leicester Square, hosted by Terry Christian and sponsored by Sony Pro Media, where the winners will be announced.
This year's venues include: the Atlantic Bar, Soho House, Curzon Soho, Alphabet Bar, The Freedom Brewery, De Lane Lea, Metro Cinema, Starbucks, Yo! Below, De Lane Lea, and Costa Coffee to name just a few. will be acting as this year’s virtual venue so those of you who can¹t make it into Soho won’t miss out. They will also be broadcasting a selection of the shortlisted films on their Sky digital channel.
A new addition this year, is the Delegates Centre at the Curzon Soho Cinema, which will be open between 10am and 6pm each day and where you will be able to find out the latest festival information and pick up a free delegate¹s pack.
The Curzon will also be the venue for the Short Film Making Seminar, held in conjunction with the NPA and sponsored by Nothing Real/Tyrell. The Curzon Soho will also be hosting other special screenings during the festival, details will be announced at a later date. (CD)
