Pebble Beach announce new products for IBC

Pebble Beach Systems will launch Copy Manager, a new tape copying tool designed to simplify tape copying and duplication, at IBC 2004.
At this show the company will also demonstrate new enhancements to its transmission automation products including the integration of data archive libraries, the integration of newsroom systems using MOS protocol and improvements to its flagship Anemone and Neptune playout products.
Copy Manager provides broadcasters with a simple and effective means of duplicating and copying material from one format to another. It has been designed to simplify and accelerate the tape copying process using an automated procedure rather than a manually labour intensive process. This frame accurate tool supports crash record, insert and assemble edit record modes.
Pebble Beach Systems will also demonstrate integration of its Neptune automation systems with Sony’s PetaSite S Series tape libraries and S-AIT (Super Advanced Intelligent Tape) drives following its launch in April. This allows Pebble Beach systems users to achieve direct control of archive libraries. Historically, this level of control has always been outsourced by automation companies to third party software providers with experience in IT data management. Pebble Beach has now taken on the responsibility to deliver this functionality directly to provide a more integrated solution to its customers, while continuing to offer automation solutions that are modular, scalable, flexible, easy to use, future proof and ultimately cost-effective.
Additionally, Pebble Beach will be demonstrating the integration with newsroom systems using the MOS protocol together with a video server management tool and other devices for playout of news items.
The company will also demonstrate Media Porthole, a low-resolution, frame accurate, simple browse review tool that provides users with the ability to review material from their desktop PCs. It shadows broadcast material in MPEG1 and other formats.
