BBC Broadcast wins Channel Four access services contract

BBC Broadcast, one of the commercial arms of the BBC, has won a five-year deal with Channel Four to provide all their access services, including subtitling, audio description and signing, following an open, competitive tender.
By January 2005 BBC Broadcast will be providing tailored services on all Channel Four channels from the Broadcast Centre in West London.
David Scott, Managing Director of Channel Four, said: “BBC Broadcast’s ability to adapt to Channel Four’s business needs and competitive price was key to them winning this competitive tender. We look forward to working with them over the coming years to provide this important Channel Four service.”
Ruth Griffiths, Director of Access Services, BBC Broadcast, said: “Channel Four has a strong commitment to providing access services. We are delighted to be working with a broadcaster that clearly recognises the value of these services to its audiences.”
