BBC Technology wins ‘Helpdesk of the Year 2004’

BBC Technology, provider of products and services to the BBC and other global media-driven organisations, has been awarded the Help Desk Institute (HDI) 'Help Desk Support Excellence Team Award 2004'.
The accolade recognises services delivered to the BBC. The ceremony took place during the recent Awards dinner at the 17th Annual Conference for Help Desk and Support Professionals at London Olympia.
Howard Kendall from HDI and Paul Hodgetts from Hewlett Packard presented the award to Richard Bourne, Customer Services Manager, Service Desks, BBC Technology and his teams. Typically the Service Desk teams handle 28,000 IT support calls, 250,000 operator calls, 10,000 directory updates, 2,500 telephony enquiries and 8,000 e-mails per month.
"We are delighted to receive this highly coveted industry award," said Adrian Corcoran, Managing Director of BBC Technology. "For us to win is a tremendous achievement that recognises the dedication and skills of our Service Desk teams and the pride they take in delivering 24x7 services to the BBC."
Founder of the Help Desk Institute, Howard Kendall, said: "Each year we continue to attract an extremely high standard of entrants. The level of customer service and the continuous service improvements demonstrated by BBC Technology are outstanding."
The award demonstrates that a company has achieved and is working in line with the highest standards of excellence within the help desk support industry.
