VOCALIGN SYNCS UP WITH DP3

SYNCHRO Arts, the UK-based software developers, have announced that the award-winning VocALign automatic audio alignment software is now compatible with Digital Performer 3 (DP3) from Mark of the Unicorn (MOTU).
The VocALign Application now gives DP3 users access to the full range of time-saving and powerful VocALign facilities.
Jim Cooper, Director of Marketing at MOTU, said: “VocALign is an absolute ‘Holy Grail’ for DP3 users. Those using DP3 for music production can now use VocALign in their DP3 virtual recording studio to align vocal tracks, tighten the timing of instrument tracks and many other music-related tasks that until now were simply not possible without VocALign. And for post production professionals, MOTU-based audio workstation, with DP3 as its front end and VocALign running seamlessly alongside, now becomes even more attractive as an affordable alternative to other costly workstations.”
VocALign is tightly integrated with DP3. Users simply select the Guide and Dub audio menu commands or keystrokes, directly in DP3’s Audio menu, to align replace audio regions automatically in Digital Performers Sequence Editor window.
VocALign runs concurrently with DP3, and processes the audio in the background. Settings can be fine-tuned in VocALign before returning the aligned audio back into Digital Performer. The functionality on offer is extensive – enabling users to tighten lead or backing vocal tracks, vocal or instrumental overdubs, and replace lip-sync dialogue automatically. (CD)
