KohaVision purchases On-Air central broadcast automation solution

Kosovo’s national independent television station, KohaVision, has purchased its second On-Air Central broadcast automation solution to automate its expanding playout to air workflow.
The new system will begin broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in May.
Based in Pristina, KohaVision installed its first On-Air Central system in September 2000 and began broadcasting a two-hour schedule in time for Kosovo’s municipal elections. KohaVision has since expanded and now broadcasts a 24-hour schedule.
“When we first started looking for a broadcast automation solution, everyone suggested we investigated On-Air Central,” said Leke Zherka, Executive Director, KohaVision. “We are impressed with its reliability and the flexibility it gives us with our scheduling, and are looking forward to installing the second system. By using file-based technology, On-Air central helps us to keep running costs at a minimum.”
KohaVision’s new On-Air Central will comprise networked modules to automate multi-format playout, presentation mixing, graphics insertion, integration of data feeds, live monitoring of transmission status and the creation of ‘as-run’ logs for billing.
