NEW-LOOK HTV WEST NEWS IS LAUNCHED

HTV West are to launch their new look flagship News programme at 6pm on Monday, October 8.
With a harder news agenda, a revamped studio and brand new presenters, the 30-minute programme will be presented by Richard Lyddon and Jenny Hull.
Steve Egginton, Head of News for HTV West, said: "The whole philosophy of our news agenda is changing - the news has to be relevant to our audience, and has to have a harder edge.
“We are up against the BBC 6 o’clock national and international news, so we have to make our mark by setting the regional news agenda.”
In addition to the new look programmes there will now be an extended news bulletin on Sundays to cover the weekend news and sport.
He explained HTV West’s parent company Carlton Communications had conducted minute-by-minute research into viewers watching HTV West’s News programme - the first in the group to have had this done – to understand better what viewers want to see.
