Ross Video to launch 10 new multi-definition switcher models at NAB 2004

Ross Video has announced the launch of 10 new multi-definition switcher models to be introduced at NAB 2004.
Models range from the compact and powerful Synergy 100 MD single ME production switcher to the extra large, hyper powerful Synergy 4 MD-X four ME production switcher. Using absolutely the latest technology, the Synergy MD and MD-X series are full of standard features at a price point that puts a multi-definition switcher within reach of a typical mid-market customer.
Synergy MD features system-wide still stores and ME-based still stores. All still stores feature MediaCache for animated logos and short clip playout. Clips are easily loaded onto the system hard drive via Ethernet. The FlexiClean clean feed feature provides a positionable clean feed, available from every ME simultaneously. Revolutionary AuxKeys offer unprecedented branding capabilities and more. Ross’ new UltraChrome chroma key technology provides super fine chroma key quality with automatic set-up and easy to use controls. The RGB colour correctors are perfect for fixing colour temperature problems or adding creative effects.
“Synergy MD and MD-X are perfect production switchers for the migration to HDTV. These are the first switchers on the market with support for both SD and HD formats at a realistic price point,” commented David Ross. “Synergy MD and MD-X support all popular formats of HD and SD out of the box with a powerful, no compromises feature set. Existing Synergy customers will have access to an attractive upgrade program.”
Offering a tighter control over your production and increased operational efficiencies, the MD and MD-X series offer a long list of interfaces including video servers, VTRs, DDRs, audio servers, audio mixers, robotic cameras, routers, still stores, character generators, and more. Device control is designed to work the way a director works, making it easy to run external devices from the Synergy control panel in a live environment.
The MD and MD-X series switchers also integrate seamlessly with the ground breaking Ross OverDrive Live Production Control System, a system that enables production control room operation via an intuitive touch screen UI. OverDrive v1.0 will also be launched at NAB 2004.
