Leeds University opts for Pinnacle Liquid Edition

Pinnacle Systems has announced that The University of Leeds has purchased a further 10 copies of Liquid Edition for use in its The Institute of Communications Studies.
This brings the total number of Liquid Edition packages in use in the department to 35. The systems are all housed in the University’s new Louis-le-Prince Centre for Cinema, Photography and Television. The additional systems have been brought in because the Institute is running new and more intensive courses with more students.
Leeds University has been using Edition since 2002, when the decision was made to move away from Premiere based systems.
Andrew Thorpe, Technology Officer at the University of Leeds, explained: "We chose to move over to Edition because the price is superb for what it does, we are spending government money so we have to be sure we are getting the best value, and now with Liquid Edition we are getting an even better product. Liquid Edition mirrors professional systems such as Avid for a fraction of the cost. When they learn on Liquid Edition students are really prepared for work in the industry. And the easy to use DVD authoring facility in Liquid Edition lets them make DVDs of their work to show future employers.”
