Scottish Screen to co-host media careers day

On Wednesday March 3, Scottish Screen is to co-host the “biggest media careers event Central Scotland has ever seen.”
Hundreds of media industry hopefuls are expected to descend on the University of Glasgow’s Hunter Halls for The Scottish Media Careers Information Day, part of a national programme of similar events to held across the UK this year.
Hosted by Glasgow University Careers Service and sponsored by the BBC, SMG, Skillset, Scottish Screen and Channel 4, it is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the media, which will cover every aspect of the industry, including the craft skills.
Activities on offer include exhibition stands and presentations/workshops on a whole range of related subjects. As well as the sponsors of the event exhibitors will include radio stations, television production companies and training providers. There will be the chance for hands- on activities and participants will be able to talk informally with representatives of television and radio.
The event is open to anyone, although it is especially aimed at sixth formers, students in further and higher education and people looking for a change of career.
