Emap music channels powered by Omneon

Emap Performance Television has opted for an Omneon Spectrum media server system to store media for broadcast and playout.
The server system from Omneon was installed in Emap's highly automated facility at the close of 2003. The Omneon server will be used to support the network's multiple music channels - The Box, Smash Hits, Q, Kiss, Kerrang!, Magic, and The Hits.
"Omneon has a very good reputation in the UK broadcast industry for providing robust media storage and playout, and they fared very well in our evaluation of suppliers for this project," said Scott Monks, operations director at Emap Performance Television. "Their media servers offer us reliable storage that is flexible and easy to integrate in support of our market-leading music television channels."
