SMART Media Delivery Platform Unveiled By Artel Video Systems
The SMART Media Delivery Platform, a four channel, auto sense, 3G/HD/SD-SDI-over-IP multifunction gateway, has been unveiled by Artel Video Systems.
The product has been designed to attach seamlessly to the IP network without any need for external network elements. Software can also be downloaded to to improve the functionality of the platform. Both the greater port density and the flexibility of the platform’s functionality reduces power consumption, size, and cost.
The Artel platform is designed specifically to serve as a conduit for simplifying IT and broadcast ecosystems.
"The SMART platform is unique in meeting the industry's requirements for implementing IP-centric workflows," said Rafael Fonseca, Vice President, Product Management at Artel. "The Layer 2/3 switching capabilities integrated with software-defined functionality reduce the need for additional hardware while providing efficient and cost-effective solutions as IP networks grow and functionality requirements change."
Artel will showcase two other new IP-centric solutions alongside the SMART platform at 2018's NAB Show. During the Las Vegas event, running from April 7-12, Artel will host demonstrations highlighting the platform’s SMPTE 2022-7 hitless switching, routing, and mobility capabilities.
