BBC predict rosy future for digital TV

New BBC channels have had a "bumper year" and digital television is on track to reach 50% take-up by the New Year, according to the BBC.
The statement claims that digital television is growing at breakneck speed and is set to be in half of all UK homes. The prediction follows record-breaking sales of Freeview in the lead up to Christmas.
Freeview boxes and iDTVs (integrated digital televisions) have reached weekly sales figures topping the 100,000 mark.
The growth of Freeview, along with satellite and cable, means that soon more than half of the population will have access to the BBC's full digital line-up of eight television channels and 11 national radio stations in time for Christmas.
The figures look likely to continue to grow at a steady rate as more people switch on to the benefits of increased choice and interactivity.
