ORF INSTALL CHYRON PRO-BEL FREEWAY ROUTERS

CHYRON Corporation have announced that ORF, the public service broadcaster in Austria, recently installed 17 Chyron Pro-Bel Freeway Routers for a brand new state-of-the art news facility.
The system was supplied by Chyron's Austrian Distributor, Ameg Media Systems GmbH and required fast delivery, transparent signal quality and flexible control systems.
The renowned Freeway series was chosen because of its compact architecture, reliability and full redundancy capability. The equipment includes seventeen fully redundant multi-level Freeway 16 systems for switching SDI, AES/EBU and analogue audio signals.
Freeway also provides RS 232 and RS 422 control, although in this application, thirty 16way button panels and XY panels were supplied. Each router has its own powerful internal control card which is able to control up to eight levels of routing, as well as the various Pro-Bel control panels.
The Pro-Bel routers are critical to the operation of the newsroom – housed in key technical areas such as VTR control, news co-ordination rooms and the eight edit suites. (CD)
