The Roger Moore Stage Unveiled
Pinewood Studios has unveiled The Roger Moore Stage in honour of the late actor.
On Sunday, 15 October, on what would have been Sir Roger Moore's 90th birthday, HRH The Countess of Wessex officially opened the facility. The actor called Pinewood home for more than 40 productions and also had an office there since 1970.
Three hundred cast, crew, family and friends attended the private event. On-stage tributes came from Dame Joan Collins, Sir Michael Caine, Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and, on behalf of UNICEF, David Walliams.
Live music was provided by the Julian Rachlin Quarter and Q The Music, while several of the star's film vehicles adorned the stately studio gardens. Guests included Stefanie Powers, Stephen Fry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Lord Grade of Yarmouth, Sir Time Rice and Bond girls Madeline Smith, Gloria Hendry and Lynn-Holly Johnson.
Lady Moore and the star's three children paid an emotional end tribute, saying how proud Roger would be to see his name dominate the Pinewood lot.
