PAG Upgrades Its V-Mount Micro Charger

News Image
At IBC 2017, stand 12:B36, PAG will introduce an upgraded version of its Micro Charger for the PAGlink V-Mount System of intelligent linking batteries.

The charger features a new, tougher, moulded housing, and is designed to accept DC as well as AC input. These added benefits make it an even better location charger for those who wish to travel light.

The principle of the Micro Charger remains the same: the charging unit clips onto the V-Mount contacts of a single PAGlink battery, which can be linked to additional PAGlink batteries of any rated capacity, and in any state of charge. The charger will address the most-discharged batteries first and then fully-charge all the batteries in the stack simultaneously.

The ability to charge multiple batteries, using one channel, is unique to the PAGlink system. Using the Micro Charger, three fully-discharged 96Wh batteries can be fully charged in 12 hours, without user-intervention. Charging time is substantially less when the batteries are only partially discharged. The Micro Charger is intended for charging up to four linked batteries.

In keeping with the Gold Mount Micro Charger, launched at NAB 2017, the new V-Mount version can be powered from 100-240V AC supplies, using the Power Supply Unit supplied, as well as 5V to 20V DC supplies.

DC power cables are included that allow charging from a 12V vehicle battery, via the dashboard cigarette lighter socket, and from a USB charger (2A).

The ultra-compact, lightweight charger, PSU and DC cables, will fit easily in any camera bag.

PAG claims it is the broadcast industry's smallest, most economic, multi-battery charger.
