ESPN choose Circle Surround
SRS Labs have announced that Circle Surround 5.1 technology is to be utilised by ESPN during coverage of the Winter X Games VII from Aspen, Colorado.
The games are being televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports. SRS Circle Surround had previously been featured during ESPN’s NFL and NBA telecasts, and similar to those events, the Circle Surround logo will be displayed before and after each CS-encoded Winter X Games telecast.
Circle Surround is an encode/decode surround sound system. It is the optimum 5.1 surround encoding solution for television because it enables networks to encode up to 5.1 channels of discrete program material for transmission over existing stereo production/distribution infrastructure.
