New postproduction and design house opens in Scotland

Hamish Allison, former creative director at Waterside Television, has launched a new postproduction facilities company, Freakworks.
The new company, which opened for business at the start of the November, will be based in the former Waterside offices in Leith employing four staff. Freakworks will now service film, television and multimedia with postproduction, direction and design. Along with the four former Waterside employees that he has taken onboard, Allison has said that he will be drawing on a pool of talent, from VJ’ s and designers to commercial directors. Already Freakworks is working with a number of Edinburgh-based advertising agencies, including The Union, 1576, Newhaven and Leith, for brands including Mercedes, Tennent’s and Midouri.
Speaking of the new venture, Allison said: “I have invested everything financially and emotionally in this project, so it will have to be the best.”
