Digifish Deliver Music Promo Video

They say you should never mix business with pleasure... but Digifish like to do things a bit differently.

The company's latest project has been to produce an engaging promotional video for the York band Shed Seven; and if you haven't already put two and two together, Paul Banks is not only Shed Seven's songwriter and lead guitarist, but he is also the co-founder and Creative Director of Digifish.

Shed Seven's use of social media has got their fanbase booming with excitement over their recent huge announcement; the band have announced that they are releasing their first album in sixteen years to coincide with their biggest UK tour ever. #shedcember.

The band have been overwhelmed by the response that they have received so far on social media from sharing their news. There is certainly something to say for the amount of hype you can create from social media and film. However an element of marketing that the band did not have access to back in the 90s was social media and they now love being able to regularly share content with fans.

Digifish produced a series of short films for Shed Seven, including three teaser animations for their big announcement and one main two-minute video to promote the 2017 tour and forthcoming album. This official promo video has already been viewed over 1 million times in just 24 hours. Digifish have produced work in the music industry for quite some time now, and worked on many promo films for bands such as The Script, Example, The Black Keys and The Stone Roses.

Paul Banks said: "It was immensely exciting for the talented team at Digifish to be a part of this project. It was amazing to watch our lead animator Matt take archive footage, old record sleeves, band passes, tickets and more, and use puppeteering and parallax effects to bring them to life on screen. I really enjoyed watching Matt put his own spin on it. It's refreshing for your own band to be promoted in such an engaging way."
