Ross Video Unveils The New VR100
At BVE 2017, Ross Video launched the new VR100 – a Pan/Tilt head suitable for virtual set and augmented reality applications.
Based on the original VR1 design, the VR100's encoding technology makes it suitable for VS/AR applications, where virtual objects need to match and track the real-world images.
In addition, the strength and rigidity of the head has been enhanced, offering an increase in payload to 20kg (44lbs), while removing the need for the extra support arm required on the VR1. This allows the VR100 to accommodate small and medium-sized teleprompters, ideal for compact virtual sets or physical sets with augmented reality.
Absolute Pan/Tilt encoders on the VR100 remove any requirement for homing, and the 20kg payload ensures that the head is compatible with most ENG cameras and can accommodate teleprompters up to 12-15”. The Ethernet IP control interface ensures that the head is fully native IP-based, therefore easy to integrate into a studio. The integrated web server also allows for easy configuration and diagnostics.
