Thomson receive €1m in orders from Germany

Thomson have announced key orders for their Grass Valley Shadow Telecine system from two major German post-production facilities, Deli Pictures in Hamburg and Pictorion Das Werk in Cologne.
The orders are valued at approximately €1m.
For Deli Pictures, who specialise in postproduction services for commercials, music videos, and television designs, the Shadow system’s cost-effective operation and ability to create high-quality digital image scans in multiple formats are crucial.
“What we highly appreciate about the Shadow system is that it uses solid-state sensor technology to create that ‘filmic’ look,” said Sebastian Hellge, managing director of Deli Pictures. “The system is also very easy to operate due to its user-friendly control panel.”
Pictorion Das Werk specialise in a wide variety of film and SD/HD video projects. Recently, the need for scanning commercials shot on film has increased significantly in Germany and has become a strong part of the facility’s business. This increased demand led to Pictorion’s decision to expand their capacities with a new Shadow Telecine system. They are using the system for scanning episodic television shows shot on 16mm film.
“The outstanding cost-effectiveness of the Shadow system is very attractive,” said Christian Journet, managing director of Pictorion Das Werk. “But an important criterion for our choice was also that the Shadow system can be easily combined with our Grass Valley Spirit DataCine and Grass Valley Phantom Transfer Engine.”
