Panasonic DVCPRO Cinema chosen for VW spot

Abel Cine Tech, suppliers of Panasonic's AJ-SDX900 dual-mode DVCPRO Cinema camera, have collaborated with Offhollywood Digital to assemble a high-level production team and shoot a commercial spot for a Volkswagen Beetle convertible.
The team included producers/directors Mark Pederson and Aldey Sanchez Jr., the principals of Offhollywood Digital; director of photography Luke Geissbuhler; editor Adam Bostic; and Tom Edmon, CEO of Heavy Light Digital, who supervised the film-out.
Abel president Pete Abel said: "In a sense, the Volkswagen spot was a proof-of-concept for us. We were interested in seeing how the AJ-SDX900 camera would perform in the hands of accomplished filmmakers on a project that would otherwise call for film or HD acquisition. What better than an automobile spot?"
