BBC One Welcomes 'Spy In The Wild'

A new natural history series – Spy In The Wild – is to air on BBC One later this month.

The 5x60' series aims to capture animal behaviour on film like never before by deploying more than 30 'ultra realistic' animatronic Spy Creatures into the animal world.

Using 'spy cameras' invented by film maker John Downer's team at John Downer Productions, viewers will be taken on a journey into the lives of various animals, revealing behaviour that is similar to humans. To expose some of the astonishing animal behaviour, the team of Spy Creatures are undercover – not only do the robotic lookalikes make the right moves to be accepted by the animals around them, but they also interact with them – giving fascinating insights into their world.

Each episode will look at the different aspects of animal behaviour; Love, Intelligence, Friendships and Mischief.

Spy in the Wild airs on BBC One, from 12 January, 8pm.
