RACETECH REFIT OB TRUCKS
LONDON based RaceTech have chosen Tektronix waveform monitors to re-engineer several of their outside broadcast (OB) trucks.
RaceTech, a technical support provider for racetracks licensed by the Jockey Club, operate one of the biggest OB operations for British television. With these newly equipped trucks, RaceTech will be able to provide integrity coverage for the Jockey Club and licensed betting shops, servicing approximately 1200 race days per year.
Mick Both, Director of Engineering and Technical Operations, RaceTech, said: “We need to use the best high-end equipment to ensure the quality of our services. Our past experience with Tektronix monitoring and measuring products has been excellent and led us to our current purchase.”
RaceTech have selected a variety of Tektronix waveform monitors as part of a digital re-engineering effort in five of their OB trucks. They will also include Tektronix waveform monitors in a completely new digital truck, which will be used to fulfill the company’s 16:9 widescreen-coverage commitment for attheraces.co.uk, a new media company that own the rights to televise horseracing from 49 of the country’s 59 racetracks.
Attheraces are jointly owned by UK broadcasters Channel 4 Television, BSkyB and Arena Leisure.
