Profanity Delay For Wembley Cup 2016

News Image
Time Delay TV supplied the profanity delay equipment to Hoi Polloi – Untraditional Content Makers for The Wembley Cup 2016, which involved streaming live to over a quarter of a million people on YouTube.

The broadcast was conceived by Spencer FC, supported by YouTube, sponsored by EE, and developed by Poke London and Hoi Polloi. The show has become bigger than anyone expected, and Time Delay TV ensured that there were no slips of the tongue on or off the pitch.

Arena TV provided the OB facilities live at Wembley Stadium, and with 20,000 people in the stadium, Time Delay's kit was essential in ensuring that the broadcast, which now has had over 3.75 million views, was clean of profanity.

Sky's flagship TV show 'Soccer AM' uses the equipment for the odd slip up of a guest's tongue, along with Channel 4's Surgery Live and Big Brother, ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, The V Festival, The MOBO Awards, and other various streamed internet events.

Time Delay.tv is Europe's only company dedicated to Broadcast Compliance of Live TV and uses their HD/SD Pipeline machines, which can instantly cut out profanity words and/or pictures.

Time Delay.tv has worked on many other live, reality and entertainment shows over the years including Celebrity Love Island, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Take Away, Time Team, Hell's Kitchen and The BBC Music Awards.

As soon as the offending word or sentence is heard, a button is pressed for as long as the offence occurs. A built-in reaction time is triggered, and 5 or 10 seconds later the word comes out clean by inserting an auxiliary video/audio source.

In a live situation, there is no second chance so decision-making has to be spontaneous, and accurate. Time Delay.tv gives the broadcasters on terrestrial, satellite or Internet this cushion.
