Extreme Sports Channel to show Gravity Games

THE Extreme Sports Channel have won the TV rights for the Gravity Games – an extreme sports event with a first-prize of $1,000,000.
With a TV audience of over 120 million people, the channel will broadcast the event, which was held last month, throughout March.
The Gravity Games brings together 250 athletes from 17 countries, competing in 16 events, including BMX, aggressive inline skating, skateboarding, street luge, wakeboarding and freestyle motocross.
Andy Warkman, head of programming and acquisitions for the Extreme Sports Channel, said: "This is a fantastic coup for us. The Gravity Games is highly respected and considered by many as the Extreme Sports Olympics. The event encompasses the best of extreme sports action and fits well with our other prestigious events, as well as opening up a number of exciting sponsorship opportunities."
Europe's Extreme Sports Channel was formed Amsterdam May 1999, and broadcasts in five languages across 48 countries in Europe and Middle East, recently culminating in the UK launch on Sky. (GMcG)
