Two Months After Independence Day – Hamlet

News Image
By the time you sit down comfortably to read this you will have had two months to absorb and reflect on the repercussion of the vote made on 23rd June 2016.

Your mind no doubt has been on many things beside "Brexit means Brexit", but it goes without saying that the repercussions for our industry are manifold; one being the fact that if UK companies wish to continue to sell into Europe they will have to continue to abide by EU regulatory statutes old, new and those not yet created.

Even though we won't no doubt have any say in those regulations. Indeed we may, but it's extremely unlikely, actually have an idea of what 'The Brexit Plan' is? In the mean time I am sure, like me, your time has been occupied with organising, going to, or being at, IBC 2016. Time perhaps to reflect on slightly less momentous issues.

IBC will see new levels of clarity for UHD, HDR, IP and micro services, providing a more specific interpretation of service-oriented architectures. Here at Hamlet we still have our feet firmly on the ground and at IBC will be offering our indomitable service to those who require broadcast solutions for the present.

Hamlet now has the capacity to avail our clientele with broadcast specific rack and hand held test and measurement equipment covering, HD, SD, baseband, HEVC, H.264, MPEG-2 over IP, ASI, OTT and RF streamed services. Well known for our standard edict of offering a high return on investment (read exceedingly good value for money), we continue to do so including a new range of top quality modular routing switchers and DAs from a range of 100 configurations to suit all your needs.

HD and SD baseband
The new combo, including the double award-winning MicroFlex Mach2 with a separate hand held test signal generator, surprisingly includes in the price the Mach2 with EYE pattern measurement and monitoring as well as waveform, vector, audio and error data reporting, plus the new TSG – a new small well-crafted hand held instrument with full 1080p SDI video and audio generation designed to address a multitude of test and verification needs in modern digital infrastructures. Like the Mach2, it has inbuilt integrated rechargeable batteries providing up to 4 hours operation. Both the MicroFlex Mach2 and the TSG come with AbsoluteCare a service warranty package (conditions apply) which is unsurpassed in the marketplace.

HEVC, H.264, MPEG-2 over IP, ASI, OTT and RF streamed services
The Enterprise VX2 covers all your IP, ASI, OTT and RF analysis requirements. With new second generation firmware, it's faster, even more intuitive with a smaller and lighter enclosure, plus an amazing high resolution screen of unsurpassed clarity. The double award-winning Enterprise is now the premier solution for those requiring a portable real-time analyser covering analysis of HEVC, H.264, MPEG-2 over IP, ASI, OTT and RF streamed services, with the RF spectrum analyser HDSDI options now delivering.

Modular Routing Switchers
The new MSC-XD range of routers offer flexible and user friendly control, including a built-in web page interface, the powerful but easy-to-use MASCOT protocol, and 3rd party protocols. In addition to the built-in button panel interface, the Mini SDI routers offer easy project integration. The smallest router is a 2x2 "Mini" digital video router. With 1, 2 and 4U units and I/O increments of 8 up to the 64x64 in the 4U high, less than 15cm deep enclosure. This new Modular 64x64 unit offers customisation not available elsewhere.
