MITIL announce website dedicated to 2002 event

The organisers of MITIL, an event which aims to provide an annual networking platform for independent producers and programme makers, have announced the launch of their 2002 website dedicated to the show.
Information and registrations can be obtained on the MITIL website where visitors can register programmes and view this year's exhibitors list. They can also benefit from early bird discounts, get all the latest announcements on MITIL conferences and workshops, and reserve a booth at the event's technical exhibition section.
Billed as the only international convention for independent and local broadcasters in television and radio, MITIL 2002 is on June 12 to 15, in Vevey, Switzerland.
The main features of the event are the Programme Market, Discussion Forums & Conferences, and the Technical Exhibition.
The Programme Market aims to stimulate the exchange (buying, selling or co-production) of programmes. The section features a Video Kiosk area to allow screening of submitted programmes in individual workstations, and the MITIL Awards offer producers an opportunity to enter programmes in various categories.
The Discussion Forums & Conferences are split into three sections: Workshops, Seminars, Conferences & Round Tables in two main streams: television and radio This year the main themes include Creative Low-Cost Production, Digital Broadcasting, and Local Pluralism and Identity.
The Technical Exhibition showcases tailor-made solutions for the specific needs of the independent and local broadcasters.
In addition the Social Programme aims to help establish a relationship between colleagues from around the world by informal events during the day and the evening.
A spokesperson for MITIL said: "The show is the only annual event in the world to give priority to the programme and equipment needs of local and independent television, radio and webcasters.
"It offers a forum for meetings and networking, a market for programmes and equipment and, above all, the opportunity to get together with and build up relationships with your industry peers from around the world."
