Made In Leeds Secures RTS Awards

Television channel Made in Leeds has won two awards at this year's Royal Television Society Yorkshire Awards.

Part of the Made Television network, the channel's news team, 'On The Aire', was given the Best News Report award for their coverage on the Yorkshire floods. The team tirelessly reported, filmed, edited and produced in-depth, quality coverage on the devastation that faced the city over Christmas and New Year.

Mark O'Brien, Made Television's Senior Producer and Presenter, was also acknowledged with the award for One to Watch, with the judges commenting on his breadth of skills and talent.

Jamie Conway, CEO of Made Television, said: "I'm so incredibly proud of the Made in Leeds team. They have shown their commitment and talent time and time again and I know how seriously they take their role as the city's dedicated TV channel. Mark and the On The Aire team have done phenomenally well alongside all the other talented teams and individuals acknowledged at the awards."

The two awards mark the first RTS awards for Made Television, following Made in Tyne & Wear receiving an Highly Commended acknowledgement at the 2016 Prolific North Awards for Best Entertainment Programme, when Made in Leeds also reached the finals in Best Factual Programme category.
