IBC Shares Details Of IBC2016 Conference

IBC has announced the first details of its IBC2016 Conference.

The event takes place on 8 September, one day prior to this year's main exhibition, and will include the introduction of new streams on the future of platforms as well as audiences and advertising.

The conference – Transformation in the Digital Era: Leadership, strategy and creativity in media and entertainment – will involve more than 300 Executives share their thoughts on key issues within the entertainment, media and technology sector.

Organised into seven thematic streams across five days, the conference has been streamlined to make discovery, navigation and access to industry expertise easy and intuitive. New streams have been introduced for IBC 2016 and include 'Platform Futures' which examines platforms, content aggregation and distribution strategies, while 'Audiences and Advertising' looks at how broadcasters and TV platforms can reach, engage and monetise their viewers.

Revamped content strands include 'Content and Production', covering content strategies and production techniques, and 'Business Transformation', which brings together the latest operational developments and technology.

Also returning for 2016 are 'Advances in Technology' with technical experts presenting details of the latest innovations and inventions in the industry. The 'IBC Big Screen Experience' will also focus on the big topics, themes, and insights surrounding the art, science, and business of cinema. Then there's 'Rising Stars', the educational programme for industry starters.

Susan Elkington, Consultant Director of Content, IBC, said: "Our industry is going through dramatic changes, challenging and exciting at the same time. The conference will focus on how the entertainment and media sector is using the accelerating power of technology to transform its businesses. It will be very useful for the Content industry which has a greater level of complexity than it used to."

"We have seen significant change in the sector and the Conference allows us to debate and explore topics collectively and with editorial rigor; this promises to be a great year," added IBC's CEO Mike Crimp.

IBC 2016 takes place once again at Amsterdam RAI. The conference is from 8 to 12 September, and the exhibition from 9 to 13 September.
