Pharos announces enhanced audio server

Pharos Communications are to introduce an enhanced version of the multichannel Pharos Audio Server on Stand 37 of SBES to be held in London's ExCel, November 26-27.
Pharos Audio Server manages the recording and playback of Broadcast-WAV audio files for radio and television transmission. The new version features remote ingest, offering full networking and media management for voice-overs and programme repurposing.
Pharos Audio Server can be operated manually or via any automation system, using the industry-standard server interface VDCP.
Batch voice-over processing enables many audio announcements or clips to be recorded in one session. Announcements and programmes can be captured and archived via an in-built SQL database. Also integral is a powerful search engine enabling archived audio files to be found easily in playlists or played directly to air.
Roger Heath of Pharos, said: "Server-based audio file handling has developed enormously in terms of capacity and versatility since the early days of disk-based digital audio editing. Pharos Audio Server is ideally suited to a wide range of applications including radio announcements, programme store and forward, automated voice-over playout and multi-language audio playout. It can be used as a stand-alone rapid-access audio archiving system or integrated into any automatic transmission environment."
