Rotolight's ANOVA Celebrates 5th Anniversary

News Image
Manufactured and hand calibrated at Pinewood Studios, England, the multi award-winning Rotolight ANOVA Eco Flood light is fast approaching its 5th anniversary, and to celebrate, Rotolight are offering some massive savings.

Over the last five years of production, we've seen various flavours of the Anova. Now available in either 'ULTRAWIDE' 110º beam angle for beautiful soft lighting, or 'STANDARD' 50º beam angle for greater straight line output and punch. Users can choose between fixed 5600K 'daylight' colour models or the Anova V2 Bi Colour which allows users to electronically set and accurately reproduce any colour of white light from candlelight through to full daylight in 10 degree Kelvin steps 3150K – 6300K maintaining perfect colour temperature across the whole dimming range.

In these days of 4K and Ultra HD, colour is key, and Rotolight have developed their own LED phosphor process called 'AccuColour' which delivers an industry-leading CRI >95 and skin tones at 99, empowering image professionals with colour accurate lighting for the next generation of camera technologies. Rotolight's totally flicker-free LED current drive system and Dynamic Drift Stabilisation technology allow you to shoot at any frame rate or exposure value without strobing or colour drift. The ANOVA Bi-Colour V2 EcoFlood will change the way you work with light forever, delivering the tungsten bulb equivalent of up to 3500 Watts whilst using 96% less energy. All Rotolight ANOVA's feature V-Lock battery plates plus wired DMX control and inbuilt WiFi as standard.

One of main reasons ANOVA is loved so much is the round ('ring-light') shape and the naturally soft light output, which delivers that sought-after Rotolight 'catch light' effect, perfect for portraiture and interview lighting.

Shutterbug magazine called ANOVA a "Gamechanger", and with over 10 international awards under its belt, such as USA Best Lighting Product, Best of IBC, CINEC CINEGEAR and BKSTS Technical & Scientific Achievement Awards and Digital Photo's Editors Choice Award, it's no wonder the Rotolight ANOVA is the luminaire of choice for discerning professionals.

When Chris Chisnall, head of lighting at ITV for the past 12 years, purchased several for use on the set of Coronation Street, he was not disappointed. He said: "What a fantastic piece of kit! I have to say I've fallen in love with these lights! Coronation Street is purposely lit to look warm, turnaround is very quick between scenes and the Anova's play their part superbly."

From Monday 8th February, you'll be able to get your hands on a Rotolight ANOVA Solo 5600 from as little as £999 ex VAT (£1,199 inc), and ANOVA V2 Bi-colour from £1,049 ex VAT (£1,259 inc). That's a saving of up to 25%, and we're pretty sure at prices like that, the stocks won't last long.

One of Rotolight's fondest partnerships came this time last year when Celebro Media decided to equip the UK's first, purpose built 4K studios, set in the heart of London's west end, exclusively with Rotolight ANOVAs.

Just months after opening its doors, Celebro Studios reporting brisk business – driven by the innovative technology they have on offer. Clients love the studio's ability to produce end-to-end 4K content. Head of the Studio, Wesley Dodd, said: "The option of recording in 4K is proving very popular – even for those who won't be transmitting in 4K. So many commercial DOP's are now familiar with 4K form cameras like the Alexa and RED that they prefer to shoot a nice big image that can be played with and conformed later."

But the ANOVA isn't just restricted to film & television DOP's, photographers also love how versatile, compact and portable the Anova is, not forgetting to mention its accuracy, character and quality of light. Multi award-winning Photographer, Greg Gorman has captured some of the most beautiful faces within the world of famous celebrities and personalities. His portrait of 'The Untouchables' star, Andy Garcia, was lit exclusively by Rotolight for Cigar Aficionado Magazine.

"I chose the ANOVA as I had to capture a lot of images in a short period of time on the Garcia shoot. I was mostly impressed with the Rotolight ANOVA. It's very good in terms of light quality and a very good source of light. What impressed me the most was the octagonal shape and beautiful skin tones I was seeing for the first time from an LED."

He continued to go on to saying it's "My new favourite light!"

And for the second year in a row, Leica have commissioned celebrity portrait photographer, Mark Mann to capture portraits of the A-List celebrities attending the Sundance Film Festival and they have again chosen Rotolight ANOVAs for the lighting.

Order yours now and save a massive 17% on Rotolight Anova Solo and a whopping 25% on the Rotolight Anova V2 Bi Colour, while stocks last.
