Happy Valley Returns To BBC One
Happy Valley is to return to BBC One for a second series, it has been announced.
Series two will see Catherine – played by Sarah Lancashire – return as a police sergeant who is heading up her own team of officers in the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire. Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) is now behind bars, but continues to haunt Catherine as she rebuilds her life. There are suspicions that a serial killer is behind a number of murders and Catherine makes a gruesome discovery that will have repercussions for her and her family.
Detective Sergeant John Wadsworth (Kevin Doyle) will also have his own set of problems in the new series, and despite being in prison, Tommy forms a bond with a mysterious female admirer, played by Shirley Henderson.
